          Renpani is a seawater desalination technology which runs without need of any process fuel. It has a Simple, Economical-Design and Shorter project-implementation-cycle. Background The pioneering experiment regarding measurement of pressure was conducted by Torricelli in 1644. But real theoretical understanding of the phenomena began after 1685, when Issac Newton defined acceleration due to gravity (g).

Mathematically, pressure (P = dgh) is only dependent on density (d) of fluid, and independent of other characteristics. The height (h) of a mercury column in a barometer is 0.76 m (or 760 mm), as shown in the above figure. If the water barometer are constructed, then the height of water column must be 10.33 m (or 33 feet).

Working Principle of Renpani Technology

In our Renpani Technology, water rises up to 10.1234 m by gravity push and enters into the boiler chamber. Within the boiler chamber, the centibar vacuum pressure is maintained to boil river/sea water at room temperature. This results in an evaporation of water at room temperature and hence rises in the form of cloud gas. The cloud gas experience in a change in velocity due to pressure gradient. This allows cloud gas to rise from boiler chamber to cloud chamber.

Within the cloud chamber, a mist collector separates 83% of wet steam from this cloud gas. This 83% of steam is naturally collected and pumped out as fresh water by gravity pull. Hence, no additional mechanical pump is required, for pumping -out the water from vacuum to an atmosphere. The rest 17% of dry steam along with dissolved air are extracted-out, using a nominal vacuum pump. In the entire process of this Renpani technology, the science of gravity push-pull is working naturally to produce 1 million liters of fresh water per day, in our demo project at Badlapur. Thus makes Renpani technology an efficient and economical machine for producing fresh water.

With the advent of social media emerging in the digital world, the project managers’ community needs to take correct understanding of this tool and use new techniques to communicate with virtual teams and stakeholders at any given time on the different devices that is available to them. Social media opens alternative communications channels and its power lies mainly in instant and informal communication, independent of time and location. Project communications can become more effective by sharing the information in the form of multi-media from various project sites.

Social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are very popular with the younger generation and the professionals even. The individuals that are engaged on these social media platforms use these sites quite frequently and the response time to any message is very less sometimes it is in seconds and spontaneously.

People use social media as a tool to stay connected to one and other (even companies and brands) to receive quick and spontaneous feedback regarding any given matter. It is a very powerful communication tool and can allow the stake-holders to get project statuses and MIS reports by having the latest pictures and videos on the same. Conversational information can provide additional insight into the project status and other significant knowledge can be shared as well.

Social media channels can support group activities to brainstorm on a project related issues or risks and post them at convenient times (as per the audience’s social behavior) and get prompt feedback whenever a resource is available. This makes participation of all the members / stakeholders at the same time redundant. Further, it is distinctly useful when the time zones are differently spread apart.

Social networking can serve as good tool to recognize team members for their achievements. The recognition can come from seniors as well as peers and junior team members and is instantly shared within the group.

It can be used in team building activities where audio/visuals can be used for training and knowledge sharing in a closed group. The project technical problems can be put on these sites to seek possible solution.

Use of tags/hashtags and rating features can help a project manager to understand the different perspectives that individual team members bring to a project.

On Twitter, hashtags Twitterlists related to project management can be created and the project team searches these tags using search application like TweekDeck. Twitterlists can be displayed on the home page for a specific group(s).

A word of caution, social networking is not a project management tool to manage the projects, but definitely supports project communications effectively.  Make use of social networking to reach your dispersed teams informally and build strong connects which has positive impact on the project objectives.

Problem Solving And Project Management Solutions

The world is full of problems. Unique problems. Problems due to lack of solution (People want to live with same state, don’t want to change) Solution itselt is a problem. Life is filled with and constantly faced with challenges. A problem may have more than one solution,but sometimes its difficult to come up with a single solution even after putting in a lot of effort. Problem solving requires both analytical and innovative skills such as:

Problem solving is a mental and intellectual process and involves understanding the problem, finding alternatives solutions, implementing the solution and evaluating it from time to time. The formulation of the problem very important than its solution, which may be merely a matter of mathematical or experimental skill.

If problems are ill-defined, then solving them satisfactorily becomes difficult as goals are not clear, solution paths are vague, low confidence in expected solution[AG1] , and so on. Well defined problems are likely to lead to a satisfactorily solution.

It is very important that you are solving a right problem. One should spend enough time on finding answer to this question and then attack the problem for the solution. Many times the situations are unique and even after working hard, your efforts could go in vain

Using Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) for Better Results

To manage project effectively the project management team has to understand project stakeholders’ expectations and keep them updated accordingly. Project Management Information System (PMIS) are system tools and techniques used in project management to support in achieving their objectives. PMIS enables project managers to gather, process and distribute information to its stakeholders.  PMIS need to be defined at the early stages of a project and need to be fine-tuned as the project progresses.

PMIS actively helps to plan, execute, monitor and control project goals. A communications plan is prepared as part of Project Management plan considering it’s information needs.

PMIS provides common understanding about the project status across the project stakeholders. It is the most critical and reliable source of information to the stake holders to know about the progress.of their projects. As the PMIS is used across the stakeholders, it acts as an enabler in the project performance.

Major components of PMIS could revolve around cost, schedule and quality dimensions. MIS   could be categorized as variance reports, forecasting reports, status reports, and escalations procedures and so on.
